Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature Flowers & Fauna, a brilliant starting point for so many projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
This card is fairly simple, but it sure is beautiful! The cheerful colors and foil butterfly just say “I’m ready for Spring!!!”
How I made it:
Cut & Score with your Paper Trimmer:
- Just Jade – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
- Misty Moonlight – 4″ x 5.25″
- Just Jade – 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
- Butterfly Bijou DSP – 4″ x 3″
- Natural Touch Specialty Paper – 2″ x 4″
- Basic White – 1.5″ x 4″
- Basic White – 4″ x 5.25″ (for inside)
- Silver Foil – Approx 3″ x 3″
Emboss with Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder:
- The 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Misty Moonlight
Die Cut with Brilliant Wings Dies:
- The 2nd to largest detailed butterfly from the piece of Silver Foil
Stamp With Lovely You:
- In Misty Moonlight on the Basic White Strip stamp your sentiment (I chose “miles apart but close at heart”)
- Cut the excess Basic White paper off at an angle – it creates a really fun look for the sentiment!
Assemble Your Card:
- Fold your Just Jade card base on the score line and burnish with your bone folder
- Adhere the embossed layer of Misty Moonlight card stock to the Just Jade card base
- Adhere the Butterfly Bijou DSP to the 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ Just Jade
- Adhere the Butterfly Bijou DSP/Just Jade panel to the center of the embossed Misty Moonlight panel
- Adhere the strip of Natural Touch Specialty Paper across the front of the card, approximately centered vertically
- Adhere your sentiment so that it is partly over the Natural Touch strip and partly not
- Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the Silver Foil butterfly
- Apply 3 Misty Moonlight enamel dots at random

Such a sweet card! The silver butterfly is the perfect finishing touch.
Thank you so much, Jackie!!
I love the layers on this sweet card, Joanne! The diagonal cut on the banner is a great element, but the shiny butterfly is grand! ♥
Thank you, Brian! I love all things shiny 🙂
Simply beautiful.
Thank you, Ann!!
This card and color combination is completely sweet
Thank you so much, Jennifer!
I love that two people in the hop used the same embossing folder and have totally different cards. I’ve never used mine, but will now have to break it out. Thanks!
Thank you, Sue! This is a fun embossing folder, I really enjoy the dainty and cheerful texture that it adds! I can’t wait to see what you do with yours!
Joanne, I love it. Sometimes simple is the best!!!
Thank you so much, Renae!!
Love your card! I’ve started using the same embossing folder and I don’t know why I didn’t use it before. Also, I like your arrangement of “how I made it”. I may have to case if that’s okay with you.
Thank you so much, Rachel! I love this embossing folder too!
Of course I don’t mind if you use the “how I made it” thing – I’d seen similar on several blogs, most notably Candy Ford’s. :). Candy always tells me “there are no new ideas – someone has always done it before” 🙂
I just love your cards. Your use of layers and textures are so amazing. This card has it all! Beautiful!
Thank you so much, Pam! Your compliment means so much to me!
Such a great card, Joanne! What I love is that you could send it to anyone. Unusual to see a butterfly card that would be great to send to a guy too!
Thank you, Sheryl!!
