Autumn for the Candy Hearts Blog Hop

Welcome to the Candy Hearts Blog Hop for September! Today we are sharing Autumn themed projects. After reading my post, I hope you will hop to the next person on the list below. Be sure to hop around to see ALL the great projects the Candy Hearts have created for you!

There are so many things to love about Autumn! For me, Halloween tops that list, so today I’ve decided to share a fun Halloween card!

Here’s How I made it:

Cut & Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Gorgeous Grape – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
  • Basic White – 5.5″ x 4.25″ (for stamping)
  • Black Glitter – 5.25″ x 4″
  • Gorgeous Grape – 3.5″ x 2″
  • Basic White – 5.25″ x 4″ (for inside)

Stamp using Festive & Bright:

  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White, stamp the image of brooms and witch hats twice (we will die cut these out, so leave some space between them – moving your Stamparatus by one Hinge Spot works beautifully for spacing!)
  • Using Gorgeous Grape, stamp “SPOOKY”, leaving enough room to die cut this and have about 3/4″ from either end of the sentiment)

Color using Stampin’ Blends:

  • Color both images of the witch hats and brooms:
    • Broom handles – dark Soft Suede
    • Broom bristles – dark Daffodil Delight, light Crumb Cake
    • Witch hats – light Basic Black, light & dark Rich Razzleberry
    • Buckle on hat – dark Mango Melody
    • Below broom bristles on top broom – dark Pumpkin Pie

Die Cut using Festive Finishes:

  • Both towers of witch hats & brooms – you will need to cut one side first and then the other, as the dies will overlap if you try to use both at once
  • 5 ghosts from Basic White

Die Cut using Ornate Frames:

  • From the 3.5″ x 2″ piece of Gorgeous Grape, the largest Ornate Frame
  • Around your “SPOOKY” sentiment, the label that fits inside that largest Ornate Frame

Assemble your Card:

  • Fold the Gorgeous Grape 8.5″ x 5.5″ piece of paper on the score line and burnish with your bone folder
  • Adhere the two “towers” or witch hats and brooms to either side of the Black Glitter panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I placed one so that the bottom aligned with the panel and the top needed to be trimmed and the other so that top aligned with the panel and the bottom needed to be trimmed
  • Adhere the Black Glitter panel to the front of the Gorgeous Grape card base
  • Adhere your Gorgeous Grape Ornate Frame to the card front
  • Add the 5 ghosts using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (two at the top, two at the bottom and one peeking up from the Ornate Frame)
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add your sentiment to the Ornate Frame
Thank you for hopping with the Candy Hearts today! Be sure to hop around to all the stops. You do not want to miss any of the creativity in this talented group of stampers! If you get lost along the way, use this list. Be sure to hop to all the stops!

  1. Joanne, this is adorable, spooky, and fun all at the same time. The Black Glitter background is perfect for those little ghosts.
