Bring on the Flowers!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! As we prepare for Spring, flowers are always on our minds. We are sharing flower-themed projects with you today and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I couldn’t choose just one type of flower for today’s blog, so I’m bringing you a whole garden! I thought that this sentiment was so sweet and perfect to send to a dear friend.

Here’s How I made it:

Cut and Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Mossy Meadow – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
  • Flowering Fields DSP – 4″ x 5.25″
  • Beauty of the Earth DSP – 4″ x 5.25″
  • Basic White – 4″ x 5.25″ (for inside)
  • Daffodil Delight – 4.25″ x 5.5″ (to cut flowers)
  • Pumpkin Pie – 3″ x 2″ (for sentiment)
  • Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, Flirty Flamingo, Bumblebee, Basic White, Old Olive – scraps to cut flowers

Die Cut with Tulips Dies:

  • Pumpkin Pie – 1 large and 1 bud
  • Daffodil Delight – 1 large and 1 bud
  • Old Olive – 5 or 6 stems
  • Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble the flowers, including stems

Die Cut with Daffodil Dies:

  • Daffodil Delight – outlines for all pieces of both flower styles
  • Bumblebee – details for all pieces of both flower styles
  • Old Olive – 2 or 3 stems
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble the flowers, including stems

Die Cut with Pansy Dies:

  • Flower Centers – Daffodil Delight
  • Flower Outlines – Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
  • Main Flower Pieces – Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble the flowers, including leftover stems

Stamp using Garden Greenhouse:

  • On the 3″ x 2″ piece of Pumpkin Pie, using Memento Tuxedo Black, stamp the sentiment “A friendship nurtured in love blooms forever”
  • Punch the sentiment out using the Tailored Tag punch

Assemble the Card:

  • Fold the Mossy Meadow Card Base on the score line and burnish with your bone folder
  • Adhere the Flowering Fields DSP to the card front at an angle, trim off any edges that go off the card front
  • Adhere the Beauty of the Earth DSP on top of the Flowering Fields panel, angled the opposite way. Again, trim off any over-lap
  • Place your flowers where you think you want them – I moved mine around a lot before I settled on placement. Then add Multipurpose Liquid glue behind the flowers one at a time – I worked from top to bottom
  • Place your punched sentiment and adhere with Stampin Dimensionals in the spots where it covers just the DSP panel – the flowers behind it will provide enough lift that you don’t need dimensionals there. Trim the excess that flows off the bottom of the card
  • Finally, add some Brushed Brass Butterflies to your garden for a finishing touch
