When I think of “Spring”, I think of flowers – tulips in particular! Stampin’ Up! has a beautiful suite in the Januaray-June 2022 Mini Catalog called Flowering Fields, and this suite is what I chose to feature today. This card is a Fun Fold called the “Spanner Card”.
Here’s how I made it:
Cut and Score with your Paper Trimmer:
- Poppy Parade – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
- Next cut at 1.25″ from either side on the front of the card base from the bottom up to the scored fold
- Pumpkin Pie – 1.25″ x 5.5″
- Basic White – 2 7/8″ x 4″ for inside panel
- Basic White – .75″ x 2.75″ for the hidden message
- Flowering Fields DSP Pattern 1 – 2.75″ x 4″
- Flowering Fields DSP Pattern 2 – 1″ x 5.5″
- Flowering Fields DSP Pattern 3 – four strips of 1″ x 4″
Die Cut using Stitched So Sweetly Dies:
- Poppy Parade – the largest scalloped label
- Pumpkin Pie – the 2nd largest scalloped label
Die Cut using Tulips Dies:
- Pumpkin Pie – the 3 pieces to make the largest tulip blossom
- Use you Blending Brush to apply Pumpkin Pie ink through the metal die
- Daffodil Delight – the 3 pieces to make the 2nd largest tulip blossom
- Use you Blending Brush to apply Bumblebee ink through the metal die
Stamp Using Flowering Tulips:
- Using Memento Tuxedo Black, stamp the circular “thank you” sentiment on the Pumpkin Pie label
Stamp Using Through it Together:
- On the .75″ x 2.75″ piece of Basic White, stamp “sending you this paper hug” in Pumpkin Pie
Assemble the Card:
- Score the Poppy Parade card base on the score line
- Adhere Flowering Fields DSP 1 to the middle Poppy Parade panel on the card base
- Adhere the Flowering Fields DSP 2 to the strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock
- Adhere the 2 7/8″ x 4 piece of Basic White to the center of the inside of the card
- Adhere the four strips of 1″ x 4″ pieces of Flowering Fields DSP Pattern 3 to the outside flaps and outer areas of the inside of the card
- Adhere the strip of Pumpkin Pie to ONLY the outer flaps on the card front; the strip and the 2 flaps will lift open, leaving the middle flap down
- Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the Pumpkin Pie label to the Poppy Parade label, then adhere the combined labels to the Pumpkin Pie strip using Tear & Tape or liquid glue
- On the middle flap (with Flowering Fields DSP 1), adhere the .75″ x 2.75″ stamped piece f Basic White so that it will be covered by the labels and Pumpkin Pie strip
- Adhere the two tulip blossoms to the right side of the card front
- Finally, add 3 of the Brushed Brass Butterflies randomly to the card front
