Flowers for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! Despite the occasional cold spell or snowfall in some areas, we are well into Spring – and we are ready for the flowers to bloom. We are excited to share our flower-filled creations with you and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’ve been missing from the blog for a while, and I’m glad to be back! Some of you may already know, while others may not – my husband and I are expecting our first child this August, a baby girl!! The first trimester was rough and I didn’t have any energy for crafting – I’m loving this 2nd trimester though!!!

Flowers are another thing I love! I kind of “eased” back into the Crafting Lair and my blog with this project by going pretty simple. Simple is so easy with Stampin’ Up! because our Designer Series Papers are so stunning! I made this care using 2 stamps, a punch, DSP and a few embellishments. I think you’ll enjoy it’s simple elegance!

Here’s how I made it:

Cut & Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Polished Pink CS – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
  • Basic White – 4″ x 5.25″ for the inside of your card
  • Basic White – scrap (approximately 2″ x 3″) for your sentiment
  • Awash in Beauty DSP – 4″ x 5.25″ (this will be the focal point of your card, you can cut 6 card fronts from one piece of DSP!)

Stamp Using Lovely & Lasting:

  • In Memento Tuxedo Black, the image that outlines the label
  • In Polished Pink, “Thank You”

Punch Your Sentiment:

  • Using the Lasting Label Punch, punch out your sentiment – the punch fits perfectly around the outline you stamped in the previous step

Assemble Your Card:

  • Cut a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon to approximately 5″
  • Adhere this ribbon across the top of your DSP panel, adding some color to the white space (I used some Tear & Tape on the back side of the DSP to secure my ribbon)
  • Fold your Polished Pink card base on the score line and burnish with your bone folder
  • Adhere the DSP panel to the card front
  • Using Dimensionals, adhere the sentiment to the card front, placing where you think it looks best among the garden of flowers
  • Add 3 Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the sentiment for added bling and interest
  • Finally, adhere the 4′ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White to the inside right panel of the card. You may stamp an additional sentiment here, or leave it blank to write your own message

There you have it! A quick and simply, yet beautiful and elegant card!

  1. This is lovely and would be appreciated by anyone! And a great use of this paper. It is so beautiful that I feel bad if I cover it! Congratulations on your baby!

  2. This is so pretty! Sometimes letting the DSP do the work is what works the best. The pop of ribbon and layered sentiment brings this just what it needs for a sweet and simple card!

  3. Such a lovely card, Joanne! You don’t have to add much when a paper is so beautiful – and I love every addition you made! So glad you hopped with us today! ♥
