Fancy Folds (or Fun Folds) are so much FUN to make!! 90% of them look super intense, but really are quite simple once you have directions to follow 🙂 And man, are they sure to impress!! The Fancy Fold I have chosen to share with you today is known as a “Bridge Fold” because you make a bridge of paper from one fold to the other.

The view looking down at the card – see the “bridge”?

Here’s How I made it:

Cut & Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Evening Evergreen – 4.25″ x 8″
    • Score on the long side at 1.25″ and 2.5″ from each end
    • Fold the outer scores out and the inner scores in
  • Evening Evergreen – 5.5″ x 4.25″
  • New Horizons DSP – be intentional about how toy cut this, as it will create the background through your forest: 1″ x 4.25″, 2 15/26″ x 4.25″, 1″ x 4.25″
  • Pear Pizzazz – 3″ x 4.25″ (for signing panel on back of card)

Die Cut using Grove Dies:

  • The 5.5″ x 4.25″ piece of Evening Evergreen – cut the forest scene centered on the panel
  • Using Copper Foil scraps – cut two dear (adult and child)
  • Using some of the green cut off the New Horizons DSP (or any other green if you chose a different piece of paper), cut 4 each of the two sizes of leaves

Emboss using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder:

  • Your die cut front panel of Evening Evergreen

Die Cut using Potted Succulents:

  • A scrap of Basic White for your sentiment

Punch using the Bough Punch:

  • Two sprigs of buds from scraps of Copper Foil

Stamp using Grassy Grove:

  • On the 3″ x 4.25″ piece of Pear Pizzazz, in Evening Evergreen, stamp the two pine trees on the bottom left or right

Stamp Using Celebrating You:

  • On your die cut Basic White sentiment piece, in Evening Evergreen, stamp he sentiment “Happy Birthday”

Assemble the Card:

  • Use your Bone Folder to score the folds on the 4.25″ x 8″ piece of Evening Evergreen (outer scores folded out, inner score folded toward the center)
  • Adhere the New Horizons DSP panels as shown:
  • Put adhesive on the top, bottom and far right of the right-most panel and adhere your die cur “bridge”, lined up at the top, bottom and right, as shown:
  • Put adhesive on the top, bottom and far left of the left-most panel and adhere your die cur “bridge”, lined up at the top, bottom and left, as shown. You can also see here how the card will fold flat for mailing
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the greenery and copper buds so that they are coming our from behind your sentiment panel
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere you decorated Sentiment Panel to the card front
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the two Copper Foil deer to the card front
  • Adhere the Pear Pizzazz signature panel to the back of the card

  1. Joanne, I love the On the Horizon paper as the background of this pretty card. The bridge fold makes a very nice fancy fold. Enjoy your day!
