Welcome to the Candy Hearts Blog Hop for September! Today we are sharing Halloween themed projects. After reading my post, I hope you will hop to the next person on the list below. Be sure to hop around to see ALL the great projects the Candy Hearts have created for you.
The Magic In The Night Suite in the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog is simply amazing! My project today features the DSP, Dies and Embellishments from this amazing suite!
Here’s the card:
How I Made It:
Cut & Score with your Paper Trimmer:
- Basic Black – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″ on the long side
- Whisper White – 5.25″ x 4″ (for the inside panel)
- 4 different patterns of the Magic In This Night DSP – 1″ x 5.25″
Stamp Using Celebration Tidings:
- In Versamark on BlackBerry Bliss, “Happy Haunting”
- Sprinkle White Stampin’ Emboss Powder over the stamped sentiment, tap to remove excess embossing powder
- Heat the embossing powder with your Heat Tool so that the embossing powder melts
Stamp Using Festive Corners:
- In Memento Tuxedo Black on the Whisper White panel, stamp the Spider Web in the top right corner
- Using the same ink, add the spider coming down from the web
Die Cut Using the Ornate Frames dies:
- The sentiment you just stamped on Blackberry Bliss, using the long straight-edged die
- A scrap of Smoky Slate using the largest Ornate Frame
Die Cut Using the Halloween Magic Dies:
- A piece of Black Glitter Paper using the border die in the set
- A piece of Magic in this Night DSP using the largest frame die
- A piece of Basic Black cardstock using the largest frame die
Assemble the Card:
- Fold your scored Basic Black card base at the 4.25” score line and burnish with your bone folder
- Adhere your 1″ DSP strips to the front of the card base – I used Tear & Tape, Stampin’ Seal would work wonderfully also
- Cut your Black Glitter border in half so that you have two pieces that are approximately 2″ long
- Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the pieces over the left-most strip of DSP, lining them up with the top and bottom, leaving an open area in the middle – we will cover that up, don’t worry!
- Adhere the DSP frame to the Basic Black frame
- Now use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the re-enforced DSP frame to the front of the card
- Adhere the Smoky Slate Ornate frame to the DSP frame
- Adhere the Blackberry Bliss sentiment to the Smoky Slate ornate frame
- As a final touch, add 3 Iridescent Pearls to the front of the card
- Adhere the inside Whisper White panel to the inside of the card
A closer look at those beautiful Iridescent Pearls, the beautiful Black Glitter Paper and the dimension added by the Black Stampin’ Dimensionals

Joanne, this card is beautiful, spooky, and fun all at the same time. I love the DSP strips, the black glitter border, the layered sentiment, everything!
Thank you so much, Candy!!
I love your use of patterned papers on the front of this card. Somehow moody but elegant at the same time. A fabulous combination with just enough glitter shimmer. Love it x
Thank you so much, Mikaela!!
Such a beautiful display of This amazing DSP. Those little pearls and strip of glider paper add the perfect balance and touch of bling. Fabulous card!
( I tried to comment the day of the hop but kept getting an error that I was blocked because I was a bot…lol)
Thank you so much, Pam!! So sorry that the computer thought you were a bot – that’s no fun!
