Butterfly Brilliance

At the bottom of my last few Blog Posts, I’ve been giving some hints about an amazing set of products that are on the way. Today I received mine and I am so excited to begin bringing you fabulous products with this pre-release stamp & die bundle from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!

Below is a photo of all of the products that will be available to purchase beginning March 2, 2021. The Stamp Set and Dies will be part of the new Annual Catalog, but the papers are exclusive for the pre-release. And let me tell you, these papers are simply amazing!!

Here is my very first card made with the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle:

How I made it:

Cut and Score with your Paper Trimmer:

  • Melon Mambo – 11″ x 4.255″, scored at 5.5″ on the long side – we are making a Tent-Fold Card this time
  • Bermuda Bay DSP from the Butterfly Bijou DSP – 4″ x 5.25″
  • Basic White – 3.75″ x 5″
  • Basic White – 4″ x 5.25″ (for the inside panel)
  • You will also need a scrap of Daffodil Delight and a scrap of Basic White, they will need to be at least 2.5″ x 2″

Die Cut Using Brilliant Wings Dies:

  • Use the piece of Butterfly Bijou DSP that has the large, colorful butterflies
  • Line up the die that has outlines of 6 butterflies – it will match up EXACTLY with the DSP
  • HOW COOL IS THIS?? The designers at Stampin’ Up! are geniuses!! What other company makes crafting THIS easy for us? The answer is “none”!!!
  • Run the paper and die through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine – you’ll have 6 brilliantly colored butterflies!
  • We aren’t done with those dies yet! Now we are going to make a texture-filled background for our card
  • There are three small dies in the Brilliant Wings set of dies – one that looks like bricks, another like cross-hatch lines and a third that is small holes
  • Starting with the bricks, die cut the bricks near the top of your 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Basic White
  • Line the prick die up to continue the bricks going across the top of the cardstock
  • Do the same about 2″ lower, die cutting with the bricks twice
  • Next, die cut the holes from the center of the Basic White Panel, and again from the bottom right corner
  • Finally, place the cross-hatch lines randomly on your panel and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine approximately 4 times

Stamp Using Butterfly Wishes:

  • The sentiment “Love to Celebrate You” in Melon Mambo on the scrap of Basic White

Punch Using the Tailored Tag Punch:

  • Punch out your sentiment
  • Punch from your plain scrap of Daffodil Delight
  • Cut your Daffodil Delight piece in half longways
  • Glue the two pieces of Daffodil Delight to the back of your sentiment, allowing the Daffodil Delight to peak out from the top and bottom of the sentiment

Assemble the Card:

  • Fold your scored Melon Mambo cardstock and burnish with your bone folder
  • Adhere the 4″ x 5.25″ piece of DSP to the card front
  • Adhere your die cut Basic White panel to the DSP
  • Choose 2-3 Butterflies that were die cut from the DSP and adhere them to the card front. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals with 2 and adheres the 3rd flat so that I could place the sentiment over it
  • Adhere your sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Adhere the 4″ x 5.25″ panel of Basic White to the inside of the card
